Everything was delicious. The pan fried prawn and beef chow mein are a must! The pork bau and walnut shrimp also spectacular! Great service also!

Revisited this place today after moving away from the area. Used to come ALL the time and I've missed it! Food: Authentic and delicious, 'nuff said. This time, we ordered the Shanghai Grilled Pork Bun, Pork Chop Cutlet Noodle Soup, House Punget Fish Fillet, and Sauteed Shredded Gord, and Pumpkin Pancake. All of them were amazing with great flavor. Service: Fast and friendly! Were cool when we kept adding to our order and gave us extra napkins and hot water when we asked for it.

Came here on friday evening i ordered the mapo tofu, grilled pork bun and the spicy wonton. The spicy wonton was mixed with the peanut sauce and was definitely not what i was expecting. I thought it was the regular generic spicy wonton, it was not a bad flavor combination but it just wasnt what i ordered, it was fine but hopefully others with peanut allergies would be aware. The spicy mapo tofu was also underwhelming, it felt very wild and that the spice flavor was not as concentrated and it was a bit too sour for my liking, im used the the spicy oil being more deep red but this had a light red to it like tomatoe. The grilled pork bun was very good though. The service was great and staff was friendly though.

Tasty Noodle House is one of the top favorite spots when parents come to visit LA. There's a few outdoor dining tables and good for groups. For the food: The menu is quite extensive and should be able to find something to please everyone in the group. I've been so many times and they've all been very tasty. Here are some suggested menu options: My favorites: - Shanghai Grilled Beef Buns (Takes 15 mins to make so order when you sit down). Curry flavored beef bun with a lot of broth, so be careful! - Pork & Pickled Vegetable Noodle Soup - Shanghai Pan-Fried Rice Cake - Lamb in Cumin Sauce - Salt & Pepper Pork Chop - Preserved Vegetables with Pea Pod & Tofu Skin - Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetable (For the adventurous. The preserved vegetable is an acquired taste - quite strong flavor) - Crispy Fish Fillet with Seaweed (Best ordered in restaurant for best crispiness)

This is my go to Chinese restaurant. I think it deserves a much higher rating as the food is simply delicious! Food: I always order 1) Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables. (If you like or don't mind giving pickled vegetable a try, do order this amazing dish. So tasty!) 2) Glazed Shrimps with Walnut. (Shrimp is glazed with mayonnaise-based sauce. The combination of sweet creamy shrimp and crunchy walnut is just amazing.) They come with rice, making it a wholesome Chinese meal. Service : Good Ambiance : Casual *Don't forget to check in for a free ice tea!

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in LA proper and am surprised that they don't have a higher rating on here. I have dined in and ordered takeout and they never miss. They're nestled in a Sawtelle Japantown plaza near Wanderlust Creamery with a few other restaurants. The last I visited on a weekend for dinner it was not very busy. The Shanghai-style stir fried noodles and the Mongolian beef are some of my favorites here. The last time I dined in, our food came out piping hot in less than 15-20 minutes. Every dish is full of flavor and has that distinct wok-fired taste. The service is usually pretty attentive too. If you are craving Chinese food and don't want to drive out to the 626, then this is the perfect place. I would take my parents here (who used to own a Shanghai-style Chinese restaurant), and that's saying a lot!

Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles to continue our three-week Christmas vacation from Las Vegas, my Chinese food and noodle-loving husband insisted that we go out for bowls of steaming hot noodle soups because of the rainy and sub-60-degree F temperatures. I eagerly agreed because I had lost my jacket the week before while on a Las Vegas trip, and we were shopping at Westfield Century City for a jacket or coat replacement. After dodging the pouring rain at Nordstrom, we drove to nearby Sawtelle Japantown to indulge in Asian noodle soup. After driving around while looking for street parking, I suggested choosing a restaurant in the Sawtelle Centre, where we ate Filipino food (Spoon & Pork) just seven months ago, and several parking spaces were available. The cuisine choices in the Sawtelle Centre ranged from Korean, Japanese, Filipino, and Northern Chinese. The restaurant and other retail store frontages were covered, so we could meander slowly down the walkway while peering at the posted menus. We were "on the fence" between eating Korean or Northern Chinese cuisine. Ultimately, our decision went to Tasty Noodle House because we could walk in without waiting for a table. We excitedly reviewed the menu and made our meal decisions before entering the restaurant. A smiling hostess/server greeted us and seated our party of three in the inner dining room. Thanks to Yelp, I redeemed a check-in offer for a complimentary beverage. I selected the Thai iced tea, which I felt would complement the sweeter flavors of Shanghaicai. Notably, common cooking techniques of Shanghai cuisine or Shanghaicai are braising in dark soy sauce or stir-frying. The cuisine uses thick red oil and soy sauce to create a thick, robust, and flavorful sauce that is often dark caramel or red colored (Hong Shao). Geographically, because Shanghai is a "port city," its mellow and sweet cuisine flavor profiles are influenced by its trade or commerce with other foreign countries and focus on seafood (saltwater and freshwater) because of its natural abundance. FOOD: - Pork Potstickers: Potstickers or jiaozi are popular appetizers or street food from Eastern China. These potstickers had thick, homemade wrappers with bouncy, juicy, and tasty pork fillings. The jiaozi were on the "heavy side" and seemed to be gutbombs. But you could tell the wrappers for the potstickers were made in-house. We didn't finish our appetizer and took them home to snack on or make another meal.8/$12.50 - Seafood Chow Mein with Black Pepper Sauce: My husband chose this stir-fried noodle dish for its assorted seafood and classic Chinese black pepper sauce. The black pepper sauce is mildly spiced and savory-sweet. This sauce did not detract from the delicate fresh seafood. He opted for the thick noodles choice instead of the thin ones because he felt the thicker noodles would best complement or balance the delicate seafood. $16.99 - Beef Chow Mein with Black Pepper Sauce: My beef-eating brother-in-law said he also enjoys the savory-sweet black pepper sauce but asked for a medium-hot chili spice level. He asked for the thin wheat noodles as their firmer texture would complement the beef slices. The portion didn't seem overwhelming; however, the noodles didn't seem to decrease from his plate even though he was actively eating. $15.99 - Marinated Pork Feet Noodle Soup: I chose this noodle soup dish as it represented authentic hong shao or red cooking. The pork trotters were tender or fall-off-the-bone braised. The accompanying soup appeared to be a tasty white bone broth, which the server recommended mixing in the noodle and pork trotters to maximize the flavors. .$14.99 All three noodle dishes were served hot from the kitchen, flavorful, and generously portioned. We couldn't finish our meals and asked our server for takeout containers. We had enough leftovers for another full meal. The service was efficient but could have been friendlier since the server did not take the time to provide us with food descriptions or advice to prevent overordering.

Delicious food! Came here with a friend for lunch. While the area where the restaurant is located is a busy location, there's never an issue finding parking. There's a parking lot in the location and a large amount of street parking as well. We were immediately sat by the nicest staff and had no issue getting sat. The menu is pretty extensive and everything seemed delicious so it took us a while to decide. We ended up getting the chicken and shrimp chow mein and the beef chow mein. Both delicious were so delicious. The noodles have an amazing grilled taste and the flavors of the meat add a kick to it. The restaurant has an inviting feel and definitely feels like a family restaurant. We definitely plan on coming back.

We stumbled here and were pleasantly surprised. We received great service from an Asian male with glasses night of 9/9/23. I have to say that they have the best beef and broccoli! Wow I cannot stop thinking about the soft and tasty beef accompanied by the perfectly cooked broccoli (not too soft and mushy, still had its crunch). Their dumplings, Shanghai stir noodles, and beef lo mein were all delicious as well. Will return again! Ambiance is casual. They have condiments on the table including chili sauce. You know it's Asian authentic when there's chili sauce condiment. Sorry I got too hungry and didn't take photo of the other dishes.
